- Since it was originally constructed in 1908 by Andrew Carnegie, the Lakewood Public Library has undergone three additions.
- The library’s new façades retained the classical architectural style, while giving the building a fresh new look to match its new interior.
- This project involved the addition of approximately 45,000 SF of new construction and 53,000 SF of renovations.
- The new addition expanded their technology department by 100% to accommodate 80 computer stations.
- The library’s design incorporated many sustainable features (using LEED criteria), including abundant natural lighting, new mechanical equipment that is more efficient, and energy-efficient light fixtures.
