Tiger Exhibit Debuts at the Zoo!

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo debuted Rosebrough Tiger Passage on Friday, welcoming their two Siberian tigers – Klechka and Dasha – into their new home! Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Rosebrough family, donors for whom the exhibit is named, visitors poured in to view the amazing new space that is five times the size of the former tiger exhibit. Following the amazing design from Van Auken Akins Architecture, Panzica Construction completed the Tiger Passage which includes four interconnected habitats where the tigers can roam. Green Building

Panzica Construction is pleased to announce that two of our construction projects were recently awarded LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, includes a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings. Both the Wyant Atheltic and Wellness Center at Case Western Reserve University and Sieberling Community Learning Center, part of Akron Public Schools, achieved LEED Silver status for criteria including enhanced ventilation, lighting controls, recycled flooring materials and accessibility to public transportation. Topping Out at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History

The sun came out in Cleveland yesterday for the “Topping Out” Ceremony at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Perkins Wildlife Center. This ancient Scandinavian tradition is based in their belief of honoring the tree gods by placing a tree or its branches on top of the completed building for good luck. Panzica’s Work Featured in Properties Magazine

CIA’s new campus is the cover story for Properties Magazine’s November issue. Panzica Construction completed the 92,000-square-foot, $23 million George Gund Building in the University Circle area of Cleveland, unifying Cleveland Institute of Art’s campus operations and student activities in the centralized uptown neighborhood location.

The airy, three-story atrium and oversized windows at the ground level, stream light into the building  and offer views of bustling student activity. Panzica Wins 2015 Build Ohio Award

 

The first weekend in November was an exciting one for Panzica Construction as the company was honored with a Build Ohio Award from the Associated General Contractors of Ohio for the Flats East Bank Apartment Building. The AGC created Build Ohio in 1991 to celebrate the commercial construction industry and the program recognizes contractors and construction management firms for excellence in their trade.

Thousands Flock to South Euclid-Lyndhurst Library Opening

Over 3,600 people attended the grand opening of the new South Euclid-Lyndhurst branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library on Sunday, October 18. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held and an open house for the public to tour the new one-story facility situated on South Green Road, directly across from Notre Dame College.

In early fall, Panzica Construction completed work on the 30,000-square-foot library which boasts a writer’s center, a digital recording studio, a technology learning center and an interactive children’s play area. Flats East Bank Ribbon-Cutting

Boasting spectacular views of both the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie, the Flats East Bank Apartments are completed and partially occupied by eager new tenants. The joint venture of Panzica-LeChase Construction completed work on the $65 million luxury residential complex which consists of 240 apartment units, totaling 500,000-square-feet. Sitting on the formerly deserted bank of the Cuyahoga River, the remarkable new structure is now the flagship of the revitalized Flats East Bank. Mayor Frank Jackson, Scott and Iris Wolstein and members of Cleveland City Council were on hand for the ribbon-cutting marking the official opening of the waterfront district.

PANZICA COMPLETES CONSTRUCTION OF CITY OF CLEVELAND THIRD DISTRICT POLICE STATION

The first new police station built in Cleveland since 1974, the three-story building on Chester Avenue, just west of E. 55th Street, is quite a structure to behold. In collaboration with design architects, Panzica completed construction of the 60,000-square-foot facility in July.

The exterior of the building was composed of three distinct materials which mirrors the functionality of the interior.
